Vanguard Named Arlington Small Business of the Year
On May 29, 2004, Vanguard was named a Small Business of the Year
in the non-profit division by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
We are honored to be selected and thank the membership of the
Chamber for recognizing our efforts to help members of the Arlington
community since 1962.

Halfway Home Dedicated in Maryland
Vanguard opened its fourth transitional living program, Halfway
Home, in Howard County, Maryland on March 23, 2004.
Serving adult men, the program is operated on a contract with
Howard County.

Vanguard Honors 10 for Community Service
The Mayor of Washington, Virginia's Secretary of Health and
Human Services and the head of the U.S. Substance Abuse and
Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA) were among the recipients
of awards and awards for individual accomplishment that were presented
Wednesday, March 31, 2003 at Vanguard Foundation's Annual Appreciation
Awards Ceremony.
