boys recovery lodge DESCRIPTION

At Boys Recovery Lodge, honoring the Memory of Herman and Sylvia Brotman, we help our clients understand the harmful consequences of teenage substance abuse, develop their own addiction recovery resources, and use their personal tools to change habits and behaviors.

To meet the special needs of each client, our youth addiction treatment is comprehensive and based on a disease model approach. Residential substance abuse treatment usually runs for three months, although length of stay is based on an individual's progress and clinical condition. Our certified staff employ individual and group counseling as well as a traditional 12-step model based on Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous. Addiction counseling is behavior management focused, with teen clients learning how to assume personal responsibility for their recovery

Boy’s Recovery Lodge serves clients from the greater Washington DC area, Maryland, and throughout Virginia. A majority of our clients come from Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Fredericksburg, Manassas, Norfolk, Richmond, and Woodbridge.

ADMISSIONS/ELIGIBILITY

A staff member will set up an assessment appointment, generally within one day. Phone screening available, as appropriate.

  • Same day admissions.
  • Candidates are most often referred by parents, school, doctors or therapists. For teens already in therapy, we work closely with the primary therapists to provide a seamless experience.
  • We accept clients from across Virginia and the metro Washington, D.C. area.
  • Medicaid funding accepted.

We accept self pay and most major insurance carriers as well as CSB, DSS, DJJ, CSA funding.

Family Services

Because adolescents need support from their peers and families to make progress, Boys Recovery Lodge emphasizes family involvement. Family members are encouraged to attend a family program activity at least once during their teen’s substance abuse treatment.

Families meet together once a week as part of the treatment process so parent and guardians can learn about adolescent chemical dependency, intervention techniques, the demands of drug and alcohol rehab, and available resources in the community as well as receive support and ideas from other families. Family members can also meet with counselors in private.

During addiction treatment, each parent or guardian receives weekly progress reports from their teen’s primary counselor.

Addiction Counseling Works!

Boys Recovery Lodge has a 67 percent success rate, based on a study of graduates three months after leaving treatment.

We watch our teens successfully recover from drugs and alcohol to become healthy and happy young adults. Some of them even choose to become addiction counselors in order to make a difference in the lives of others.
