Girls Recovery Lodge DESCRIPTION
At the Girls Recovery Lodge, we help teenage girls understand the harmful consequences of adolescent substance abuse. We also help them develop their own addiction recovery resources, and teach the girls to use those personal tools to overcome substance addictions.
Because adolescents need support from their peers and families to rise above alcoholism and drug abuse, the Girls Recovery Lodge emphasizes family involvement. Family members are encouraged to attend a program activity at least once during their teenager's treatment.
To meet the special needs of each teenage girl we serve, addiction treatment is comprehensive and based on a disease model approach. Substance abuse treatment lasts about three months, but the length of stay is based on a girl’s progress and condition. Certified counselors employ a traditional 12-step model based on Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous as well as individual and group addiction counseling. Our addiction counseling is behavior-management focused, with teen clients learning how to assume personal responsibility for their own recovery.
Our professional staff also works with teens to build character traits that will support a healthy, substance abuse free lifestyle. The Girls Recovery Lodge curriculum includes nutrition, diet and exercise programs, as well as programs about anger management, personal hygiene, goal setting and other life skills.

Family Services

Families meet together once a week as part of the alcohol and drug abuse treatment. This lets parents and guardians learn more about chemical dependency counseling, intervention techniques, and available resources in the community. It also allows them receive support and ideas from other families experiencing teen substance abuse. Parents and guardians receive weekly progress reports from their child’s primary addiction counselor. Family members can arrange private meetings with counselors.
Addiction Counseling Works!
Based on a study of graduates three months after leaving treatment, the adolescents recovering from substance abuse at Girls Recovery Lodge have a 67 percent success rate.
We watch our graduates successfully leave substance abuse behind and become healthy and happy young adults. Some of them have even chosen to become addiction counselors in order to make a difference in the lives of others.
